The PMHA Eagles play on the traditional territories of W̱SÁNEĆ and Lkwungen-speaking peoples, on whose traditional territories, we live, we learn, we play, and we do our work.

September 30 is the first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation as we recognize the tragic legacy and lasting impacts of Canada’s residential school system, and treatment of Indigenous peoples.

Please take time today to reflect on our history, and plan for how we can work together towards Truth and Reconciliation. The orange shirt has become a symbol of honouring this day – if you have an orange jersey and you have a practice, wear it today.

We respect the intention of the Call to Action #80 from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission:

“to honour Survivors, their families, and communities, and ensure that public commemoration of the history and legacy of residential schools remain a vital component of the reconciliation process.”
