About PMHA

Who We Are and What We Do

The Peninsula Minor Hockey Association (PMHA) delivers minor hockey programs to hundreds of kids on Vancouver Island's Saanich Peninsula. We are an incorporated not-for-profit Society, governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and run by dedicated volunteers.

The activities our Association are governed by the Societies Act of British ColumbiaHockey CanadaBC Hockey, the Vancouver Island Amateur Hockey Association (VIAHA),the PMHA Constitution & Bylaws and the PMHA Policy Document.

Elections for Board positions take place every April at the PMHA Annual General Meeting, and any member in good standing may run for a position. Members of the Board of Directors serve two year terms, with half of the Board being elected each year. Once elected, each Director is responsible for one or more portfolios.

Board meetings are held monthly. The Board has several Standing and Ad Hoc Committees that are responsible for making recommendations to the Board related to specific functions. Our Standing Committees are: Policy & Governance, Finance, Coach & Player Development, and Dispute Resolution. Our Ad Hoc Committees include a committee for Registration Promotion, Coach Selection, New Season Planning and a Social Committee.

Divisional Managers, the Referee-in-Chief, and Head Coaches are appointed annually by the Board of Directors.

Volunteers are always welcome and needed. Want to get involved? Please contact our Vice President of Administration to discuss opportunities.
