Managers will need to help ensure that all volunteers have the necessary training and certification. These requirements, with the exception of coaching courses, are all accessible online and BC Hockey mandates these MUST BE COMPLETED BEFORE THE START OF THE SEASON. Please contact the Volunteer Records Director if you have any questions regarding the following:
Requirements for volunteer positions are as follows:
Managers and Divisional Managers - CRC, CATT, RIS
Safety Persons - CRC, CATT, RIS & HSCP
Board Members - CRC, CATT, RIS
Coaches - CRC, CATT, RIS, and applicable coaching course(s).
- Criminal Record Check (CRC)
There is no cost to the applicant. You will be prompted to enter a specific code for our association that waives the fee. If the code is not entered, PMHA will not reimburse this cost. CRC expires every 3 years, and is accessible through online application: https://justice.gov.bc.ca/eCRC/
The PMHA CRC access code is available through your team manager.
Once you have submitted your CRC online please send the confirmation to: The Volunteer Records Director at pmha.crcs@gmail.com
Some volunteers will not be able to complete their CRC online and will need to print and mail the application. If you need to submit this way, please notify the Volunteer Records Director, and they will authorize and submit on your behalf. A small number of volunteers may require fingerprints. In these cases, instructions will come to you directly from the Justice department.
PMHA will automatically receive the results in 2-10 weeks, and this is kept confidential. Volunteers will not be notified when the CRC results have been received.
- Concussion Awareness Training Tool (CATT)
The Concussion Awareness Training Tool is a course requirement for all PMHA volunteers. You are required to complete it only once and does not require annual recertification.
There is no cost to the course and takes about 45 minutes to complete. CLICK HERE to take CATT course.
